Sure I Beleive in Modesty, but Kenna needs to eat!

My lil Kenna, almost 7 months old
I don't believe Heavenly Father made breasts for infants so we would have to smoother and sufficate our babies to hide them while they eat. While I believe there is a place for everything, I wish women didn't feel they needed to sit in a closet or go in a room to nurse. Nurse your beautiful nursling proudly and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! As weather gets hotter, being discreet inevitably becomes harder and baby will probably start ripping that blankie right off him/her so just remember to tell people as the silly graphic goes, "If my breastfeeding offends you, please feel free to put a blanket over your head." :) hehe.

Ahh, that's so cool that you can do that! My sister is like that. I'm a total under the blanket, in a closet girl. Maybe I should join La Leche League and get over it for the next baby? Not sure how to cure my "hide the nursing" syndrome.

Actually, I have learned to conceal BBs by just letting my t-shirt drop down to the edge of babies face without covering her at all. I have even done this with company over! This way, even when one of my big kids yanks the blanket away in public, I am still comfortably covered!

I SOOOOOOO agree!!! I nurse everywhere. I refuse to go into the mother's lounge at church to nurse. I just use my "hooter hider" and nurse in RS or Sunday School. I usually go out in the foyer during SM only because it is a little distracting and that's more of a sacred time. But i will never got into a separate room to feed my baby. In fact just this afternoon I fed her in Subway while my kid's ate lunch. Some people get offended, but oh well. Of all the things to get offended over. Good for you for feeding you baby where ever!

Ok, I had, to leave a comment for ya on this one-- I couldn't agree more! I just stopped nursing my little one last summer (he weaned himself). I nursed, anytime, anyplace and was proud to do it! I firmly beleive if women did not feel the need to run & hide (thus making nursing inconvenient when it really isn't & shouldn't be) then we'd have a lot more breastfed babies! When all the drama was going on over the poor woman who was asked to leave a plane for nursing "uncovered" and the airline ended up apologizing my hubby used to joke with me about how I should nurse somewhere controversial and maybe we'd get a big settlement out of it! (he's a funnyman, allright.) Anyway, I always nursed in restaurants, at church, and once even in my Weight Watchers meeting, including when we had a male leader--I sat right in the front row. So, good for you, girl! Just had to show ya some support!

Hi Janis! It's your mother-in-law and I agree. When I was breastfeeding your husband people were SO uptight about breastfeeding in public! And I'm sure you know that every time we went to a restaurant, the minute our food was served the baby HAD to eat! I became a master at eating and nursing at the same time!
I'm really enjoying your blogs. I'll try to leave more comments. God bless you for nursing in public....if anyone has a problem with it it's their problem!

I totally agree, as breastfeeding is the best thing that can be done for babies. It's also what the Lord wants, as He gave us women breasts for a reason.
